Cornerback Marcus Williams, signed by the Cardinals Thursday, takes part in Thursday's voluntary minicamp practice.

The Cardinals figure to look hard at a cornerback some time in next week's draft, but they brought in a veteran Thursday to potentially aid the depth chart.

Marcus Williams, who had a six-interception season for the Jets in 2015 and spent time with the Jets and Texans last season, signed a one-year contract prior to Thursday's voluntary minicamp practice.

Beyond Pro Bowler Patrick Peterson, the Cardinals are still searching for the right mix at cornerback, including a starter across from Peterson. Bené Benwikere has the most experience on the roster, with Brandon Williams, Lou Young III, Jonathan Moxey, C.J. Goodwin and Jarell Carter also available.

Marcus Williams was an undrafted rookie signed by Houston in 2014. After he was released he joined the Jets, where he was through the beginning of last season – with New York thinking enough of him to give him a second-round tender as a restricted free agent last spring.

But after playing five games last season, Williams was released, then playing 10 games with the Texans after he was claimed off waivers. He had one interception last season.
