Running back David Johnson and the Cardinals will head to London on October 22.
The Cardinals have long known they were heading to London this season. Now they know exactly when.
The overseas matchup with the Rams will take place on Oct. 22, which is Week 7 of the regular season. The teams will face off at Twickenham Stadium, a historic rugby venue hosting its second NFL game.
The Cardinals are expected to spend the week in London following their Oct. 15 home matchup against the Buccaneers. They will have a bye in Week 8 to recuperate after the long flight home.
The Cardinals are no strangers to international play. While this will be their first regular season visit to England, they played a preseason game there against the Vikings in 1983. That contest, which was held at Wembley Stadium, was the first NFL game in England.
The Cardinals traveled to Tokyo for a preseason game against the Chargers in 1976, and went to Mexico City to play the 49ers in 2005. That was the first regular season game in NFL history outside of the United States.
The Cardinals-Rams matchup is one of four games in London in 2017. The Browns and Vikings face off at Twickenham Stadium, while the Ravens play the Jaguars and the Saints will face off against the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium.
