Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby was named NFC defensive Player of the Week.

Karlos Dansby came back to Arizona looking for his 20th career interception, the one that entered him into the exclusive 20-interception/40-sack club in NFL history.

That he also got a sack Sunday against the 49ers made the game even more memorable, and Wednesday, it even earned the veteran linebacker the NFC defensive Player of the Week award.

"Karlos has been here a long, long time," wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald said. "We came in together (in 2004), been through the ups and downs through the years and the one consistent thing has been Karlos' play. He's always played at a high level, and for him to still play at a high level at 36 years old is exciting and a testament to his hard work and dedication."

It was Dansby's second defensive Player of the Week award in his career. Amazingly, the first came 10 years ago -- Week 10 of the 2007 season.

Dansby, who just turned 36 Friday, became the third player of the week winner for the Cardinals this season. Wide receiver J.J. Nelson won the offensive award in Week 2 and running back Adrian Peterson won it in Week 6.

"I have been playing this game for 14 years," Dansby said. "I have played it for a decade. I have seen the evolution of the game and how it is changing. For me to be able to still have success and be successful on the field, all praises go to God for that one. He gave me a great gift and I am just trying to use it."
