Larry Fitzgerald doesn't have a Super Bowl title, but he has a golf title now.

The Cardinals' wide receiver teamed with friend and PGA pro Kevin Streelman to win the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Sunday with a score of 41-under par, including a 12-under for their final round.

They finished seven strokes ahead of PGA pro Chez Reavie and amateur Brian Swette.

"It was me being completely out of my comfort zone, not being a professional, just dealing with what comes I think that's what made it special for me," Fitzgerald told Bay Area News Group afterward. "This game is so difficult, and I think you even have more respect for the guys who win and play consistently at a high level because this is the hardest game out there."

Fitzgerald also the first African-American amateur to win the event -- which has been held since 1937 -- although Fitzgerald downplayed that aspect of his victory.

Celebrities are often the amateur that comes out on top. Fitzgerald is only the seventh professional athlete to win the title, and the first since quarterback Dan Marino won in 1988.

Fitzgerald said he is "consumed" by golf – not hard to figure out when he often races out of the locker room on Fridays later in the season so he can get a round in. Bay Area News Group reported Fitzgerald is a 13-handicap.

His home course is Whisper Rock in Scottsdale, which is where Streelman is based.

"Football is just reactionary — I see the ball and I catch it," Fitzgerald told reporters at the event earlier in the tournament. "I see guys and I try to make them miss. It just happens, you don't have time to think about it. In golf, you have to think about everything: The ball is below my feet. The wind is left to right. The pin is back right. It's definitely the hardest game I've ever played."

Fitzgerald just took part in the one-day pro-am at the Waste Management Phoenix Open the week before. He then flew to Minneapolis to do sponsor-related interviews at the Super Bowl.

After playing Pebble Beach, Fitzgerald said he is headed to New Zealand, and then to South Korea to watch some of the Olympics.

As of now, Fitzgerald still has not announced if he will play in 2018.
