Whatever the Cardinals might be planning with their passing game this season, they have certainly overhauled their receiving corps.
Gone are Hollywood Brown and Rondale Moore. Drafted were Marvin Harrison Jr., Tejhaun Palmer and Xavier Weaver was added as an undrafted rookie. The Cardinals signed Chris Moore as a free agent, and now, Zay Jones.
Jones, a veteran going into his eighth season, officially signed his one-year contract on Monday, injecting some experience into the room.
Going into his eighth season, Jones joins Zach Pascal and Moore as the vets to go with a youthful corps. Harrison, second-year man Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch are the other names atop the May depth chart.
Jones stated his career with the Bills and also played for the Raiders, amassing 287 catches. He was limited to nine games last season in Jacksonville, making 34 receptions for 321 yards and four touchdowns. His best season was in 2022, also with the Jaguars, when he had 82 catches for 823 yards and five touchdowns for a playoff team.
After his release, Jones quickly made the rounds as a free agent. He visited the Titans -- who subsequently chose to sign veteran Tyler Boyd -- before making stops with the Cardinals, Cowboys and Chiefs. The Chiefs reportedly formed mutual interest in signing Jones until he picked the Cardinals.
