The Cardinals and Albertsons-Safeway will partner to host a back-to-school drive that will benefit local underserved students prior to the Cardinals-Raiders game at University of Phoenix Stadium on Aug. 12.
Albertsons-Safeway volunteers will team with Cardinals Cheerleaders to collect new school supplies and donations outside of each stadium entrance prior to the pat down area. Fans who donate on game day will receive a complimentary Cardinals ticket lanyard courtesy of Albertsons-Safeway.
Monetary donations will be accepted at the checkout any Valley Albertsons or Safeway location through Aug. 15 and Albertsons-Safeway will match each donation up to $5,000. Customers can support the back-to-school drive by dropping off monetary donations into Cardinals canisters found at each register when checking out.
Following the game, the donated items along with 1,000 co-branded backpacks produced by the Cardinals and Albertsons-Safeway will be donated to various schools and organizations across the Valley. Additional details of the donation locations and times will be provided at a later date.
The collection at the Cardinals-Raiders game on Aug. 12 will mark the end of the team's back-to-school drive which begins today
