This weekend's game will impact the Cardinals in April, although I am guessing no one will be complaining.
The Cardinals are currently slotted to choose 21st in the first round of the NFL draft. But since the Super Bowl participants automatically slide into the last two slots of the draft round, a Cardinals' victory in the NFC Championship will give them -- at best -- the 31st pick in the draft (and 32nd if the Cardinals win the Super Bowl). A loss, and the Cards stay at 21. The move of 11 spots is about as far as a team can drop in this scenario; usually 9-7 teams don't get this far in the postseason and the better teams, of course, are usually drafting a little later than 21st.
But again, a trip to the Super Bowl is worth the fall. And then some.
