SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
Last time out: The 49ers were idle in Week 9
Record: 6-2 overall, 2-1 in division
Snapshot: San Francisco has won five straight games after a slow start and is looking more like the team which made last year's Super Bowl.
Notable: Linebacker Aldon Smith was activated from the non-football injury list on Oct. 31. Smith, who had 4.5 sacks in the team's first three games, has missed the past five weeks with off-field issues. His return to the field is unknown.
Quotable: Coach Jim Harbaugh on Smith's return: "I think the prudent thing to do is look at it day-to-day and have a goal of having a great day," Harbaugh told a Bay Area radio station, according to 49ers.com. "He's been taking that approach, really over the last five weeks. And it's served him well and he's (had) quite a bit of progress."
Key number: 153. The number of rushing yards per game the 49ers average, the best in the NFL.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Last time out: Seahawks 27, Buccaneers 24 (OT)
Record: 8-1 overall, 3-0 in division
Snapshot: Seattle fell behind by 21 points but rallied to beat the winless Buccaneers. It was the biggest comeback in team history, although many expected the Seahawks to have a much easier time. Regardless, Seattle now leads the 49ers and Saints by 1 ½ games for the NFC's best record.
Notable: The Seahawks defense held the Buccaneers to 76 yards and zero points on their final five possessions, giving the offense just enough wiggle room to pull out the overtime victory.
Quotable: "We just felt that we weren't playing our best game, " linebacker Bobby Wagner told Seahawks.com. "We looked up and we were only down 21 and felt like we had too much time for us not to come back. We just went to playing Seahawks football. At the end of the day, we still came away with the win. And that's the most important thing."
Injury update: WR Percy Harvin (hip) hasn't played this season but recently returned to practice and could be active soon.
Next up: The Seahawks will travel to play the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10.
ST. LOUIS RAMS
Last time out: Titans 28, Rams 21
Record: 3-6 overall, 1-2 in division
Snapshot: The Rams once again put up a good fight, tying the game on a touchdown pass from Kellen Clemens to Jared Cook with 6:15 remaining, but couldn't secure the win. St. Louis could not contain Titans RB Chris Johnson, who rushed 23 times for 150 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner with 2:54 left in the fourth quarter. Clemens was 20-of-35 for 210 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in his second start in place of the injured Sam Bradford.
Notable: Steven Jackson ran for more than 1,000 yards in eight straight years for St. Louis before departing this offseason for the Falcons. After first trying Daryl Richardson and Isaiah Pead, the Rams may have found his replacement in rookie Zac Stacy. The fifth-round pick out of Vanderbilt rushed 27 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns against Tennessee, his second straight game with more than 125 yards rushing.
Quotable: "When you've got the lead, our mentality has to be that that should be the ballgame," defensive end Chris Long told StLouisRams.com. "Today, we fell far short."
Key number: 363. The total yardage gained by both the Rams and Titans on Sunday, although Tennessee turned theirs into seven more points.
Next up: The Rams will travel to play the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10.
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENT: HOUSTON TEXANS
Last time out: Colts 27, Texans 24
Record: 2-6
Snapshot: The Texans led by 18 points late in the third quarter but Colts quarterback Andrew Luck connected with wide receiver T.Y. Hilton for three second-half touchdowns in the comeback victory. Houston coach Gary Kubiak collapsed at halftime and was taken to a local hospital. He suffered a transient ischemic attack, known as a mini-stroke, and is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Notable: Quarterback Case Keenum was 20-of-34 passing for 350 yards and three touchdowns in his second career start. Kicker Randy Bullock missed three field goals, including a game-tying 55-yard attempt as time expired.
Quotable: WR DeAndre Hopkins after hearing about Kubiak at halftime: "It wasn't a good feeling," he told HoustonTexans.com. "If it was anybody, a head coach, an assistant coach, or a trainer passing out, you are concerned about them."
Injury update: Running back Arian Foster was a game-time decision with a hamstring injury. He played, but left late in the first quarter with a back injury and did not return.
