Bye-week synopsis: The 49ers are among the worst teams in the NFL, finally notching their first win of the season last time out against the Giants. But that doesn't mean there isn't intrigue in San Francisco. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was added before the trading deadline and figures to see some playing time down the stretch.
That could come as early as this weekend when the 49ers face the Seahawks. San Francisco isn't making the playoffs, and mounting losses would actually help its chances of getting a higher draft pick, but the team would rather see Garoppolo find some success to bring more hope for 2018.
The 49ers are still in the midst of a rebuild but Garoppolo could help expedite that process.

Record: 6-4 overall, 3-0 in division
Snapshot: Seattle kicker Blair Walsh missed a 51-yard field goal attempt at the end of regulation as Atlanta escaped with the victory. The Falcons took an 11-point lead on a Matt Bryant field goal with 3:49 remaining, but Doug Baldwin caught a touchdown pass less than a minute later and the Seahawks got the ball back with the chance to tie.
Notable: The Seahawks tried a fake field goal at the end of the first half that was snuffed out by the Falcons. It proved notable since Seattle ended up losing by three points. The Seahawks gave up 34 points in their first game without cornerback Richard Sherman and safety Kam Chancellor, although one was a defensive touchdown by Atlanta.

LOS ANGELES RAMS

Record: 7-3 overall, 2-1 in division
Snapshot: The game was tied at seven heading into the fourth quarter but the Vikings scored 17 unanswered to cruise to the win. Running back Latavius Murray broke the tie with a 2-yard touchdown run and wideout Adam Thielen put the game away with a 65-yard receiving touchdown.
Notable: The Rams' four-game winning streak was snapped as the offense couldn't get on track. The stout Vikings defense only allowed 254 total yards and stymied Los Angeles star running back Todd Gurley. The Rams were leading the NFL in scoring heading into the contest.
