SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
Last time out: Cardinals 20, 49ers 10
Record: 0-9 overall, 0-5 in the division
Snapshot: Rookie quarterback C.J. Beathard was under pressure for most of the contest as the San Francisco offense struggled to put points on the board. He was sacked five times and hit 16 times. The 49ers had 329 yards of total offense but turned the ball over twice.
Notable: Running back Carlos Hyde was ejected in the fourth quarter during a skirmish with Cardinals defensive lineman Frostee Rucker. Cardinals outside linebacker Haason Reddick was also ejected. New quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, acquired in a trade with the Patriots earlier in the week, was in uniform but didn't play.
Quotable: "In the middle of a game your adrenaline is kind of going. So, it's not until tonight, tomorrow, I really feel those hits. Physically, sometimes some are worse than others. Sometimes they hurt. Sometimes they don't." – Beathard, after the game, on taking so many hits.
Injury Update:Safety Jaquiski Tartt (wrist), wide receiver Trent Taylor (rib) and fullback Kyle Juszczyk (neck) all left the game with injuries, further depleting an undermanned San Francisco roster.
Next up: The 49ers will host the Giants in Week 10.
