Well, I guess it wasn't a glitch after all, was it? Mike Sando broke the not-insignificant story that Anquan Boldin is going to change agents, moving away from Drew Rosenhaus and going with someone else. What does this mean? We'll see. First Boldin has to get a new agent. Tom Condon? Someone else? The last time a significant player changed agents, the Cardinals stayed quiet on the matter. They almost have to until they talk to the new agent. Last time, Karlos Dansby's change apparently scuttled contract talks and now, as I have thought for a while, I don't see an extension getting done. Will it be the opposite for Boldin? The time line doesn't change -- Adrian Wilson (whom I believe is making progress in contract talks) comes first. If Dansby isn't going to work a deal, then maybe this is a step forward for Boldin and a new deal.
Certainly whomever Boldin chooses won't be as public as Rosenhaus. I don't know if Boldin starts showing to voluntary work or anything -- he's not here today again -- but again, changing the equation can only help, right? Doing the same thing over and over and getting the same result is the definition of insanity. Now Boldin's trying to change the mold.
