The Cardinals' defense has not, collectively, had the kind of season it would have liked. But when it comes to the early returns on Pro Bowl voting from fans, it is the team's defensive players that are making potential headway.
The Cards have three defensive players -- outside linebacker Chandler Jones, inside linebacker Jordan Hicks and free safety Budda Baker -- among the top five vote-getters at their respective positions after the first week of tallies. Kicker Zane Gonzalez also is in the top five.
There are no Cardinals' offensive players appearing in the top 10 for their positions in the voting.
Baker is fourth among free safeties but currently first among NFC players. Hicks is currently fifth (and fourth in the NFC). Jones is fourth (third in NFC) and Gonzalez fifth (third).
Fan voting is open here on NFL.com through Dec. 12. Players and coaches will then make their choices, with the teams being announced in late December.
