Budda Baker Named Second Team All-Pro

Safety Budda Baker was named to AP second-team All-Pro on Friday.

Budda Baker had a season to remember.

The safety set a personal record for tackles in a season (164), was named to his seventh Pro Bowl, signed a long-desired contract extension, and then Friday, he was named second-team All-Pro.

It was the fourth time Baker has made an All-Pro team. He was named first team as a special teamer in his rookie season of 2017, and was a first-team safety in 2020. He was second-team safety in 2021.

Baker, who turned 29 on Friday, has also been named one of the finalists for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship award.

Trey McBride did not make either team. Raiders rookie Brock Bowers was named first-team tight end, and the 49ers' George Kittle was named second team. McBride was third in the balloting. Garrett Williams finished fifth in the voting for slot cornerbacks, and DeeJay Dallas finished seventh among kickoff returners.

The first team safeties were the Lions' Kerby Joseph and the Packers' Xavier McKinney. The Ravens' Kyle Hamilton joined Baker on the second team.

"For me, it's a positive," Baker said late in the season about getting awards and honors. "It's great, I'm blessed and I think of myself highly and I work and I grind to be the best player I can be. That just comes with my hard work, that's what comes with showing out on the field every Sunday. Those things that will come.

"But there is still work to do. I can still get better."
