The Cardinals named Roberto Del Real as the team's recipient of the 2024 Inspire Change Changemaker Award for his work in support of social justice.
Del Real will be recognized at the Cardinals Inspire Change game this Sunday against for going above and beyond in making a difference for his community. He will also receive a $10,000 donation from the NFL Foundation, paid directly to a nonprofit organization of his choice.
The Changemaker Award recognizes individuals in each NFL market making a difference in their community across Inspire Change's four focus areas: Education, Economic Advancement, Police-Community Relations and Criminal Justice Reform.
Del Real currently serves as the Director of Community Services at Chicanos Por La Causa. In his role, he oversees an array of programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families across Arizona. These initiatives include offering meals and support at senior centers, creating STEM education and mentorship opportunities at youth centers, family assistance programs and immigration services. Del Real also leads the Nahui Ollin Wellness Program, which fosters cultural identity and civic engagement among high schoolers statewide.
Passionate about mentoring the next generation and cultivating knowledge, Del Real inspires others through his work and personal values. He has been instrumental in helping the Cardinals identify and target youth in need of assistance. Chicanos Por La Causa has participated in the team's annual "Shop with a Jock" event, been the beneficiary of 50/50 gameday raffles, and attended training camp practices as special guests.
