DALLAS -- With the Cardinals needing some help at outside linebacker because of injuries, the team elevated undrafted rookie Reggie Walker from the practice squad to the roster Monday ahead of their game against the Cowboys.
The Cards also elevated defensive lineman Trevon Coley from the practice squad, and officially signed tight end Evan Baylis -- who had been one of the PS elevations last week -- to the roster.
The Cardinals still have an open roster spot after putting guard J.R. Sweezy and defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence on injured reserve.
Linebacker Devon Kennard (calf) and left tackle D.J. Humphries (back) are active.
Baylis provides a blocking option at tight end, especially with Maxx Williams still on IR with a bad ankle. The hope is that Williams can return after the bye, which comes after next week's game against Seattle.
Coley will help fill the void left by Lawrence, who has been part of the defensive line rotation. Coley is a veteran who has played in 38 NFL games, including seven last season with the Colts.
Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph said last week there would be four outside linebackers active for the game. Walker is one, along with Kennard, Haason Reddick and Dennis Gardeck. Kylie Fitts (hamstring) is injured, and new signee Isaiah Irving is still trying to learn the defense.
The Cardinals' full inactive list:
- QB Brett Hundley
- WR KeeSean Johnson
- RB Eno Benjamin
- LB Kylie Fitts (hamstring)
- LB Isaiah Irving
- OL Joshua Miles
