The Cardinals have a new director of football administration -- the man who will head up salary cap management and work with contracts -- in Matt Harriss.
Harriss, 39, was hired by the Lions in 2016 when new General Manager Bob Quinn was hired, and before that spent a decade working with the New York Giants. In New York, Harriss worked under GM Ernie Accorsi, who was someone Cardinals president Michael Bidwill credited in the team's search for new head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
Before the Cardinals signed cornerback Robert Alford this week, they were estimated to have more than $50 million in salary cap room going into the offseason.
