The Cardinals placed safety Deionte Thompson on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, the fourth Cardinals player to land on that list this season.
Players can be put on the COVID list whether they test positive or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive.
If Thompson didn't test positive, there is a chance he could return for Sunday's game in New England. It's a blow to the position, where the Cards are already likely without Jalen Thompson, who aggravated his ankle injury last week in Seattle. Charles Washington missed last game with a groin injury. Veteran Chris Banjo is expected to team with Budda Baker as the starters.
The Cardinals are already dealing with a rash of injuries on the defensive line, necessitating the signing of three defensive linemen to the practice squad Tuesday in addition to veteran Domata Peko to the active roster.
The Cards also released running back Khalfani Muhammad from the practice squad.
