LOS ANGELES -- The Cardinals promoted rookie quarterback Charles Kanoff to the active roster from the practice squad Saturday, on the eve of their game against the Chargers.
To make room, the team released wide receiver Jalen Tolliver, who himself had been promoted from the practice squad earlier in the week.
Kanoff came into the offseason as the fourth quarterback, but showed enough to stick around on the practice squad. The Cardinals have been working with two quarterbacks on the active roster -- Josh Rosen and Mike Glennon -- since releasing Sam Bradford.
In the preseason, Kanoff completed 15 of 36 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown. He is from the Los Angeles area.
