Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and the Cardinals will resume on-field work with new coach Steve Wilks for the first time April 17 during a bonus minicamp.
The reality of the offseason is that there isn't much of an offseason, especially with a new coaching staff.
From the time Steve Wilks was hired, the new boss has been busy organizing his staff, putting together a playbook and helping shape the roster. Soon, he'll have players with which to work too, with the ability of a new staff to bring in players two weeks earlier than the rest of the NFL for offseason work and also hold an extra minicamp – all still voluntary, of course.
The Cardinals will commence Phase One of the offseason program April 3, and get on the field for the first time on April 17 with the bonus three-day minicamp. That leads into Phase Two work, which is on-field work in which offense and defense remain separate.
Phase Three work, which includes organized team activities (and limited offense versus defense work) and the mandatory minicamp, comes after that. The final day of work is June 14.
Training camp dates are yet to be announced. The regular-season schedule will be announced in mid-April.
