SEATTLE -- The Cardinals are officially filling the long snapper spot on the roster, promoting Beau Brinkley to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Saturday.
Aaron Brewer, the regular long snapper, has been on Injured Reserve with a broken arm. Brinkley was a practice-squad elevation last game.
To make room, the Cards also placed veteran linebacker Tanner Vallejo -- who had just had his defensive snaps increase significantly the past two games -- on IR with a knee injury.
The Cards also promoted running back Tavien Feaster to the roster from the practice squad. Feaster's roller-coaster week continued, after he was promoted to the roster from the practice squad last weekend, cut during the week, re-signed to the practice squad and then moving back to the active roster. With Jonathan Ward still absent from practice with a concussion, the Cards need a third running back.
The Cardinals also made practice-squad standard elevations of linebackers Joe Walker and Tahir Whitehead.
With Vallejo down, it should open playing time back up for rookie Zaven Collins at inside linebacker. Last week, Vallejo out-snapped Collins 26-23 on defense and that was with Vallejo leaving early with the injury. Against the 49ers the week before, Vallejo out-snapped Collins, 29-3.
The Cardinals visit the Seahawks Sunday afternoon, with kickoff at 2:25 Arizona time.
