Needing more experience at the cornerback position, the Cardinals signed Darqueze Dennard to a one-year contract on Thursday.
The 29-year-old played last season with the Falcons. He spent his first six years in the league with the Bengals after being selected in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
To make room on the roster, the Cards waived injured wide receiver Krishawn Hogan.
It was in Cincinnati where Dennard played for Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, who was Dennard's defensive backs coach in 2014 and 2015.
Dennard had one interception in eight games last season. He has played 85 games in his career, including 30 starts.
Dennard gives the Cardinals four experienced cornerbacks on the roster, joining Malcolm Butler, Robert Alford and Byron Murphy. The Cardinals also have 2021 draft picks Marco Wilson and Tay Gowan. The rest of the cornerbacks on the roster include Jace Whittaker, Tae Hayes, Picasso Nelson and Lorenzo Burns.
