The Cardinals continue to try and find some pass-rushing depth behind starters Chandler Jones and Terrell Suggs, adding veteran Andre Branch on a one-year contract Tuesday.
Branch, who had a free-agent visit with the Cardinals in Tempe in June, signed after the Cards released outside linebacker Matt Longacre last week. Even after the signing, the team still has two open roster spots.
The Cardinals also activated rookie linebacker Dante Booker from the physically-unable-to-perform list. He had been out with a knee injury.
Branch, a 2012 second-round pick of Jacksonville, spent the last three seasons playing defensive end for Miami. The Dolphins cut him in March. He has 25½ sacks in his career.
Behind Suggs and Jones at outside linebacker, the Cardinals also have Brooks Reed, Pete Robertson, Vontarrius Dora, Cameron Malveaux and Pita Taumoepenu.
