The Cardinals coaches keep their analysis of their players after games fairly close to the chest, opting publicly for more general statements. It was noteworthy this week when, following the loss to the Seahawks on Sunday, both Jonathan Gannon and Nick Rallis brought up mode of play and motor – as in not enough – as something that cropped up in the crucial game.

"Motor is our effort," Gannon said. "It wasn't egregious, but I pointed out some plays to everybody that we have to do a better job of."

Rallis echoed that thought.

"The motor needs to pick up at times," he said.

What is striking about the comments is that the Cardinals have been built on that motor and it has been apparent most every game, win or loss. Rallis emphasized there are always times when motor can come up, whether it be with a unit, a particular player, or a particular play. That happens many games. Rallis hinted at one of the issues, noting that in practice is when players are ingrained with the idea of immediately running to the ball once the run is underway or the pass is launched to a receiver. That apparently didn't always happen against the Seahawks.

"I think we've had better games with our mode of play," Rallis said.
