The Cardinals know their defensive tackles are important Sunday against the 49ers, especially with the way the Niners want to run. So the news veteran defensive tackle Corey Peters will not play with his ankle problem could have a major impact. The 49ers ran the ball well in the first meeting overall, but the Cards seemed to do OK as long as Peters was in the game. There is no announcement who will replace him in the lineup, but there is a chance Robert Nkemdiche will get back into the lineup next to Rodney Gunter after Nkemdiche had been moved to coming off the bench in the DT rotation.
The Cards will also be without starting guard Justin Pugh, whose hand injury will keep him on the sideline for a second straight game. Guard Mike Iupati will be back on the field on the left side. John Wetzel will start for Pugh. The Cardinals will also have running back T.J. Logan active for only the second time this season, so he should be returning kickoffs after Brandon Williams struggled last game.
