The Cardinals have Kliff Kingsbury back.
The coach had a second straight negative test Sunday morning, and he has been cleared to lead the team in their game against the Texans Sunday afternoon at State Farm Stadium.
Acting co-head coach Vance Joseph had said Friday that the Cardinals were prepared to proceed against Houston whether Kingsbury was available or not. Quarterbacks coach Cam Turner, who also tested positive a week ago Friday with Kingsbury, was cleared in time to take part in practice Friday.
The Cards still are without three players who remain on the Covid list: linebacker Chandler Jones and defensive linemen Corey Peters and Zach Allen.
Kingsbury was part of all the meetings and offensive planning all week, doing it virtually. The only part of the preparation he was not able to participate in was actual practice on the field. Kingsbury will be able to slide back into his playcalling duties immediately.
The Cardinals are attempting to start 7-0 for only the second time in franchise history.
