Kyler Murray was "lights out" Sunday against the Rams, Jonathan Gannon noted multiple times. That was easy to see with anyone watching. There was tangible proof too, though, beyond the thrashing on the scoreboard. Murray had 266 yards passing, 59 yards yards rushing and a "perfect" passer rating of 158.3 -- only the second person ever to have a 250/50/158.3 trifecta in a game.
Because of it, Canton came calling.
A game ball and Murray's jersey from the game have been shipped to the Pro Football Hall of Fame for display and to honor Murray's big game. The Hall does this often, bringing in artifacts to commemorate current achievements, in addition to all their all-time historical items.
The only other players to ever hit this threshold was -- surprisingly -- a pretty much pure pocket QB from back in the day (I remember watching him and having his football card but I understand not everyone in the fan base will) named Ken Anderson of the Cincinnati Bengals. Anderson had 297 yards passing, 62 yards rushing and the 158.3 rating in a game at the Baltimore Colts on Nov. 3, 1974.
Murray has repped the Hall in such a way once before. He signed a game-used ball that was sent to Canton in 2022, after the Cardinals came from behind to beat the Raiders in Las Vegas, 29-23, and Murray became the first player to ever run for a TD, pass for a TD, run for a two-point conversion and pass for a two-point conversion in a game.
