After Kyler Murray's historic performance on Sunday, the accolades continue to roll in for the Cardinals quarterback. In a fan vote, Murray was named the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week for Week Two.
Murray was not named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week (that went to Saints running back Alvin Kamara), but his performance is still receiving the praise it deserves. Murray finished the game 17-of-21 for 266 yards and three touchdowns. He joins Kurt Warner as the only other Cardinals QB to finish a game with a perfect 158.3 passer rating. He's also the first quarterback since Ken Anderson in 1974 to have the rating and at least 250 passing yards and 50 rushing yards.
Two of the touchdowns were thrown to rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. and the third was a remarkable pass that found Elijah Higgins in the end zone. In typical Murray fashion, the quarterback also used his legs to rush for 59 yards on five carries.
To go along with the award, FedEx and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund will make a $2,000 donation in Murray's name to Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Earlier in the week Murray's jersey and the game ball were sent to Canton to be displayed at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
