Levi Brown was keeping his sense of humor.

The left tackle, who struggled Sunday in St. Louis in surrendering three sacks to Rams end Robert Quinn, was asked what the issues were in the game. Brown noted that the players hadn't yet watched the video from the game.

"They send you all in here a little early, because after you all leave, then we watch film," Brown said, drawing laughs from the large media contingent. "You should come a little later and I can give you answers on what Coach told me and all that."

Brown did say he had talked to coaches and he needed to fix his hand placement on some of his sets, things both he and Bruce Arians said were "correctable." Quinn is fast and putting him

on turf makes his a difficult assignment, Brown acknowledged, "but that's something I have to be prepared for," Brown said. "I didn't get the results I wanted to."

Arians made it clear he wants better protection.

"It doesn't take a rocket scientist (to see) the most negative thing was the pressure on the quarterback and the sacks and the turnovers," Arians said.

He added that Brown needed to have better technique. But Arians also said on two of the sacks, a back who should have helped chip-block Quinn did not, instead going out on pass routes too soon.

According to the site profootballfocus.com, quarterback Carson Palmer was pressured on 15 of 44 total dropbacks. Palmer's stats were significantly better when not blitzed (19 for 23, as opposed to 7 for 17 when blitzed) but all four sacks came with a regular four-man rush.

"There is some concern when you give up three (sacks), but like I said, I don't think it's the end of the world at this moment," Arians sad.

The Cardinals did add Bradley Sowell at tackle off waivers, but he is being trained as a right tackle. He did play the left side in college. Nate Potter remains the backup left tackle. Arians said after the game Brown was going to remain the starter.

"The spotlight is always on me," Brown said. "I can handle it. I get back to work Wednesday and do what I have to do."

USING ABRAHAM

The Cardinals did not get a sack Sunday and Arians wants to see the team improve the pressure they provide. Veteran linebacker John Abraham officially played 20 snaps. Profootballfocus.com (which had Abraham with 21 snaps) said 13 of Abraham's plays were rushing the passer. He finished with three quarterback hurries.

"We'd like to increase that at least 10 more (snaps)," Arians said.

FEELY STAYING PUT

Arians was not happy with the play of kicker Jay Feely in the game, after Feely missed a 50-yard field goal and was "poor" on his kickoffs. But Arians also said that the Cardinals were not looking for someone to challenge Feely right now.

"Not at the moment," Arians said. "We've looked at the one we thought was the best available, and we'll continue with where we are at."

CARDINALS COME OUT "CLEAN" FROM INJURY

Arians said any injuries the Cardinals suffered Sunday were minor. "We were clean," he said.

The only player who did not play in St. Louis because of injury was tight end Rob Housler (ankle). Arians said Housler would likely miss this week's game against Detroit as well.
