Along with a handful of players absent to begin the final week of OTAs -- including Anquan Boldin, Bertrand Berry and Darnell Dockett -- the Cards didn't have coach Ken Whisenhunt. He was at a previously scheduled engagement, so assistant head coach Russ Grimm took over. Then again, ike Grimm said, all these players and coaches know what they are supposed to be doing.
Other than that, a run-of-the-mill day. Quarterback Kurt Warner echoed something I said recently, that there really haven't been any noticeable standouts during OTAs like there had been last year with Steve Breaston. Again, that's not an indictment as much as praise for what Breaston did last year.
The Cards are scheduled to work through Thursday. I believe the strength and conditioning program might last another week or two, but for the most part, players (and coaches) will be off until camp. I'd expect the official training camp dates to be announced sooner rather than later as well.
