Here's a Top 100 list that does include Chander Jones -- near the very top. Veteran NFL scribe Pete Prisco of cbssports.com released his annual Top 100 Players list for the NFL. Jones, the linebacker who was infamously left off the NFL Top 100 list last offseason (in voting done by players), is one of three Cardinals on Prisco's list.
He has cornerback Patrick Peterson at No. 75, a somewhat surprising nod given that Peterson missed six games with a suspension last year and played poorly in his first few games back. But Peterson did play excellent football down the stretch, and that's what Prisco noticed to put P2 on the list.
New wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is at No. 31, the fourth wideout on the list behind the Saints' Michael Thomas, the Falcons' Julio Jones and the Bucs' Chris Godwin.
Then there is Chandler Jones -- a surprising No. 8 on the list. This has been an offseason of props for Jones, who has been underrated. Nationally, it seems people want to try and rectify that (a 19-sack season can have that effect.) Jones was No. 62 on Prisco's list last year (Peterson was No. 42 and Hopkins, coincidentally, No. 8.) Bucky Brooks of NFL.com just called Jones the top edge rusher in the game.
These are all debatable, of course. But Jones has put together so pretty strong arguments for that debate.
