Planning For New Cardinals Practice Facility Underway

Will remain in same Tempe location; completion date targeted for 2027

INDIANAPOLIS -- The results of the most-recent NFL Players Association's player survey were released this week and coincided with an announcement by the Cardinals that plans for a new $100-million training facility are underway.

Overall, the Cardinals finished last in the NFL in the third-annual survey that graded teams in 11 different categories. While there were good grades in a handful of those categories, the team scored lowest in the facility-related ones. The Cardinals said they are addressing those concerns with the new training facility project, the planning and design of which began several months ago.

"Our goal is to provide the best possible environment, facilities and resources and to give our team the greatest opportunity to succeed," the Cardinals said in a statement. "We are working hard to achieve that. Last season, we shared with our players the plans for a new training facility at the existing Tempe location with a targeted completion date of 2027. We have hired Rossetti, a leading architecture firm that has worked with a number of NFL teams on their new facilities, and the design process is underway. We will continue to explore all the other ways -- large and small -- that we can get better in every single area of our operation."

New facilities make a difference with the NFLPA survey. The Chargers, which jumped from 30th to fifth in the survey rankings, and the Falcons, who jumped from 25th to third, both did so after making major upgrades – or in the Chargers' case, opened a new building.

A team spokesman said the Cardinals will unveil more information about the state-of-the-art facility at a later date.
