Practice ended and Anquan Boldin and Darnell Dockett were sent for precautionary MRIs after they reported hamstring injuries that the team didn't previously know about. Since both are having contract issues and both are represented by agent Drew Rosenhaus, the math is probably easy to do here. Coach Ken Whisenhunt wasn't saying much, other than the facts, although he did admit "We all know what this is about." That said, there isn't much the team can do; even an MRI can't give the whole story on an injury. The two should be back for the afternoon practice and I am sure we will try to get interviews then. As I just updated earlier, LB Karlos Dansby is indeed here after a scheduling snafu.
Also at the first light (no pads) workout:
-- Oliver Ross is here on a tryout bid like Dominique Byrd. So too is LB Rian Wallace.
-- Ben Claxton is running as backup center behind Lyle Sendlein.
-- Clark Haggans is running as starting left linebacker and Chike Okeafor on the right. Their backups, with Bertrand Berry sitting out (that may just be a veteran thing) are Victor Hobson and rookie Cody Brown.
-- Sitting while rehabbing knee injuries are LB Ali Highsmith, FB Tim Castille, DT Gabe Watson and TE Stephen Spach.
-- QB Kurt Warner did some of the work, although Warner said he wanted to do everything after hip surgery. Whisenhunt just wants his QB to be smart. There wasn't that much work anyway; the team was off the field after about 85 minutes.
