Arizona Cardinals Home: The official source of the latest Cardinals headlines, news, videos, photos, tickets, rosters and game day information

Randomness on Wednesday morning

You know you've moved to a different level when Canada's equivalent of ESPN -- TSN -- shows up in Tempe on a Tuesday to cover a practice. Anyway, the week seems to be moving slowly toward the Divisional playoff game. The latest weather forecast is it will be 58 degrees for a high on Saturday in Charlotte, although with a night game the low of 39 is more appropriate. There is a 40 percent chance of showers, but I don't know if that means during the day or at night. The rain could come and go before kickoff.

-- The Panthers want to stop the Cardinals from running (At least that's what they are saying publicly). Remember, the Cards were surprised the Panthers loaded up to stop the run all day in the first meeting, allowing Kurt Warner to pile up 381 yards passing.

-- Speaking of Warner, this column in the Chicago Tribune (which was brought to my attention yesterday by a reader) talks about how the Bears should chase Warner if he becomes a free agent. My initial reaction? There can't be a worse fit. Warner likes playing indoors (the man wants the roof closed in Arizona when the temperature is 60 degrees and sunny) and throwing the ball. The Bears, in large part because of playing in windy conditions (and in frigid conditions later in the year), are never going to be a prolific passing team. And to go from Q and Fitz to Devin Hester and Marty Booker, well, that isn't a trade I'd want to make. Ultimately, I think Warner is a Cardinal or retired in 2009.
