The Super Bowl win didn't come about, unfortunately. But the jewelry was not lost, making Thursday a big day – it was sizing day for those who will receive NFC Championship rings, with Jostens representatives making the trip to Tempe. No, it won't be a Super Bowl championship ring, but it still carries significance.
"Without a doubt," veteran guard Reggie Wells said. "There are only a few guys that win the Super Bowl but there are also only a few guys that even get there. It was an amazing situation to be in. There was heartbreak, but we just have to dust ourselves off and try and get another ring the next time."
That heartbreak, Wells said, has been slow to fade, but it is fading.
"You don't spend your whole life trying to be the best in the world to be a minute-whatever away from that," Wells said. "It is hard to deal with for a while. But whenever you sit back and see maybe a clip of some of the things we were able to accomplish, it was a special few weeks there. It's an honor to be NFC Champ and it was an honor to be on that team."
