The draft eats up an entire weekend, but people love the NFL, so it gets huge TV numbers. It's an event unto itself. So I guess it shouldn't be that much of a surprise the NFL is considering making the first round a prime-time TV event, turning the draft into a three-day affair -- possibly as soon as next year.
The first round would be Thursday night. Rounds two and three would be Friday night, and then the last four rounds would be Saturday. That's a lot of talk about guys who have never played a down of pro football. But you know what? It'll have viewers.
