The Cardinals and Titans will meet Aug. 23 in a preseason ESPN matchup in Tennessee.
The Cardinals are going back to Tennessee for the preseason, in a nationally televised ESPN game that will be the team's second national TV broadcast of the exhibition season.
Already the Cardinals were going to be on the NFL Network for the Hall of Fame game against the New Orleans Saints to kick off the NFL's preseason schedule. The Cardinals playing a preseason game in Nashville on ESPN isn't a new concept either; the teams did the same on a "Monday Night Football" broadcast back in the preseason of 2010. This year's game will be on Aug. 23, a Thursday night.
The Hall of Fame game will take place Aug. 5.
The rest of the preseason schedule for the Cardinals includes a trip to Kansas City sometime during the weekend of Aug. 9-13, and home games against Oakland (Aug. 16-20) and Peyton Manning-led Denver (Aug. 29-30).
Both TV games will kick off at 5 p.m. Arizona time. The game times for the other three games – like their exact dates – have yet to be announced. UPDATE: For the full schedule, click here.
It's the first time since 1986 that the Cardinals have had five preseason games. That was the last time the Cards played in the Hall of Fame game.
The regular-season schedule will be announced later this month. The Cardinals will also head to Flagstaff and training camp earlier than normal this year because of the extra game, although camp dates have not yet been announced.
