Players will begin showing up to the Cardinals' Tempe facility next week, at least according to the current NFL plan. As with everything seemingly in the world right now, however, it still feels fluid.
According to a memo sent to teams that found its way to Twitter Sunday morning (via Tom Pelissero), even while the league and the NFL Players Association work to finalize plans on how to handle a season through the coronavirus pandemic, players are supposed to start reporting next week.
Rookies are scheduled to arrive July 21, quarterbacks and injured players on July 23, and then the full roster on July 28.
How work unfolds once players arrive is still unclear. But physicals (and COVID-19 tests) would be at the forefront. The rookies' arrival would also allow the Cardinals to finally sign their draft picks, which in a normal offseason would have been long done by now. There are still a lot of details that need to be worked out. But that's where the NFL and the Cardinals are right now.
