Every team and every player responds in their own way to tough times. We're watching that play out with the Cardinals now. The visitor for "Thursday Night Football" this week, the Denver Broncos, are going through their own set of problems. After starting 2-0, the Broncos have lost four straight, people are freaking out, and GM/President of Football Ops John Elway said this week his team has to approach this game like "we're fighting for our lives." Oh, and the Broncos have now allowed a rusher to crack 200 yards in two straight games.
With that background, Von Miller took the podium Tuesday to announce the Broncos would "kick their ass" Thursday -- meaning the Cardinals.
Miller added (after this video ended), "Make sure you put that out there. We're going to kick their ass."
All this happened after the Cardinals had media access for the day, and so no reaction was possible until Wednesday. Truth be told, I'm not sure it'll get much reaction. Miller is a great player after all, and in the end, a comment on a Tuesday doesn't mean much on the field Thursday night. The Cardinals and Broncos are going to play like they will play, and both teams understand the desperate place they have played themselves into.
Still, it's a pretty in-your-face move. David Johnson has yet to have a big game. This seems like the kind of defense he could possibly get that against. Safe to say, there are plenty of behinds on the line.
