Pro Bowl Voting Another Validation For Zane Gonzalez

Kliff Kingsbury said when he first arrived as Cardinals coach, holdover special teams coordinator Jeff Rodgers had nothing but good things to say about kicker Zane Gonzalez, who was signed deep into the 2018 season after injuries derailed his early career in Cleveland.

"Coach Rodgers, when I got here, was like, 'I believe this guy can be special and be our guy for years to come,' " Kingsbury said. "He's proved it every step of the way."

There is a reason Gonzalez remains among the top five vote-getters for NFL kickers in the most recent round of Pro Bowl voting tallies. His 98 points with five games left is tied for third in the league. Gonzalez is third among NFC kickers in voting.

He is also one of four Cardinals in the top five.

Safety Budda Baker dropped a slot among free safeties in the NFC behind the Saints' Marcus Williams, and now Baker ranks second at his position and fifth overall. Also ranking are outside linebacker Chandler Jones (4th overall, 3rd in NFC) and inside linebacker Jordan Hicks (5th overall, 3rd NFC).

Fan voting is open here on NFL.com through Dec. 12. Players and coaches will then make their choices, with the teams being announced in late December.
