Alec Osborne joined the Cardinals as a defensive quality control coach on 2/12/25 following eight years of coaching at the collegiate level, including in 2024 at his alma mater, the University of Louisiana-Monroe, as inside linebackers coach.
Osborne went to Louisiana-Monroe after two seasons (2022-23) at Baylor as a defensive quality control coach where he worked with inside linebackers. In 2022, he aided in the development of LB Dillon Doyle and helped the Bears to the Armed Forces Bowl, their second-straight bowl appearance.
Prior to Baylor, Osborne served as a defensive graduate assistant at LSU for three seasons (2019-21) assisting defensive backs and both inside and outside linebackers. During LSU's National Championship season in 2019, he coached LB K'Lavon Chaisson who earned first team All-SEC honors after finishing with a career-high 60 tackles (34 solo) 13.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks one forced fumble and four passes defensed. Osborne also helped develop LB Damone Clark and CB Cordale Flott who were both drafted in the NFL.
After a brief stint as a special teams quality control coach at Louisiana-Lafayette, Osborne spent the 2018 season as the defensive ends coach at McNeese State. The Cowboys defense finished the 2018 season first in the Southland Conference in yards per game (356.0) and points allowed per game (24.2). DE Chris Livings earned All-Southland Conference and All-Louisiana second-team accolades that season.
Osborne's first coaching job was as a graduate assistant at Northwestern State in 2017. He worked with the defensive line that season and helped DE's Obi Iheoma and Lyn Clark earn honorable mention All-Southland Conference honors.
He played tight end at the University of Louisiana-Monroe (2012-2016) and appeared in 36 games (22 starts), recording 18 receptions for 120 yards and a TD. Osborne was a two-year starter and earned second-team All-Louisiana honors in 2014. A Geismar, LA native, Osborne received his bachelor's degree in Finance and a master's degree in Sports Management from Louisiana-Monroe.
He and his wife, Kacey, have a son, Niles and a daughter, Madeline.
