Everrett Gathron is in his second season with the Cardinals as an assistant strength and conditioning coach after joining the team in 2023.
He came to the Cardinals after spending the previous five years (2018-23) as an associate strength & conditioning coach at Ohio State where he worked with the Buckeyes track & field team.
Prior to working at Ohio State, Gathron spent eight years (2010-18) at the University of Virginia where he assisted with 18 varsity sports, including football, and directed the administration of programming for wrestling, men's lacrosse and softball.
Gathron was the director of strength & conditioning at the University of Texas-Pan American in 2009-10 and oversaw the design and implementation of the strength and conditioning program for all varsity sports at the university. He was an assistant strength & conditioning coach at SMU in 2008-09 after working as a graduate assistant at Ohio University where he earned his master's degree in Recreation and Sports Sciences in 2008.
He earned his bachelor's degree in Health Promotion and Fitness from Otterbein College in 2006. Gathron is certified by the NSCA as a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and United States of America Weightlifting (USAW) as a Sports Performance Coach – Level 1.
