Drew Krueger is in his first season as the Cardinals head athletic trainer after being hired in March, 2023. He came to the Cardinals from Texas Tech where he was associate athletic director, sports medicine and head football athletic trainer for the football team.
The 36-year old Krueger spent the past nine years (2014-22) at Texas Tech after starting in 2014 as an assistant athletic trainer and worked the last seven years as head athletic trainer. In addition to overseeing the athletic training efforts for the Red Raiders football team, Krueger also worked with men's and women's golf at Texas Tech.
Prior to working at Texas Tech, Krueger was an athletic training intern with the New England Patriots in the 2013 season and was a graduate assistant for the football team at the University of Oklahoma (2011-13) while he was working on his master's degree in Human Relations.
Krueger received his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota in 2008 and also earned a master's degree in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2011.
He is a licensed and board-certified athletic trainer and an active member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA). In addition, Krueger is certified in Dry Needling, Applied Functional Science, 3D Maps, FRS Functional Range Conditioning, FRS Internal Strength, Functional Soft Tissue Transformation and Reflexive Performance Reset.
