Ryan Gold is in his 11th season with the Cardinals and third as the Assistant Director, College Scouting following his promotion in June, 2022. He spent the previous four seasons (2018-21) as a College Scouting Coordinator after he was elevated to that role in May, 2018.
He originally joined the Cardinals in June, 2014 and worked for three years as a scouting assistant before being promoted to a scout in May, 2017 where Gold assisted both the pro and college scouting departments. In that position, Gold conducted advance scouting assignments for future opponents while also evaluating both current NFL players and draft-eligible players nationally.
In Gold's current role, he assists with the day-to-day operation and organization of the college scouting department including evaluating all collegiate players for the NFL Draft, managing college player data and coordinating pre-draft events. He also serves as a liaison to the National Football Scouting service.
He came to Arizona after coaching for three seasons (2011-13) at his alma mater, the University of Massachusetts, as the assistant offensive line coach. With the Minuteman, Gold also assisted in recruiting, film breakdown, opponent scouting and was a part of the program's transition to the FBS level. Gold began his coaching career at UMass for two seasons (2009-10) as an offensive undergraduate assistant.
While in college at UMass, Gold interned for two seasons with the New England Patriots in their marketing and operations department. Prior to college, Gold was the captain of his football and baseball teams at Westwood (MA) High School where he won back-to-back state championships in football.
Gold earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management in 2011 from Massachusetts and earned his master's degree in Higher Education from UMass in 2014. He and his wife, Jennifer have two daughters, Ava and Gianna.
