With the 49ers losing to the Lions on Monday night, the Cardinals clinched third place in the NFC West.
The Cardinals (7-9) and the 49ers (6-10) could still end up tied if the Niners win the season finale between the teams at State Farm Stadium, but because the teams would end up even in head-to-head games and with the same division record in that scenario, the next tiebreaker is win-loss percentage in common games. The Cardinals would have a 5-7 record in those games while the 49ers would be 4-8.
Finishing in third significantly changes the opponents the Cardinals will face in 2025, however.
The Cards now have a home game against the Packers and road games against the Bengals and Cowboys.
The 49ers, as the fourth-place team, have a home game against the Bears and road games against the Browns and Giants.
In addition to the Packers, the Cardinals will also host Michael Penix and the Falcons and Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars among the teams on their home schedule.
