The Cardinals needed a defensive tackle, so they got back a defensive tackle that at least has some familiarity with their defense.
With Robert Nkemdiche officially being placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a knee injury, the Cardinals signed Vincent Valentine off the Seahawks' practice squad. Valentine spent about a month -- Oct. 31 through Nov. 27 -- on the Cardinals' practice squad this season. With Nkemdiche's injury, the Cardinals were down to two healthy defensive tackles on the 53-man roster in Corey Peters and Rodney Gunter.
Nkemdiche wasn't the only player going to IR Tuesday. Linebacker Thurston Armbrister, who was actually inactive the two games he was on the roster, was also placed on IR with a hamstring injury.
To replace Armbrister, the Cardinals signed former Bears linebacker Jonathan Anderson, who spent time on Chicago's roster and practice squad from 2015-2017 before being released early this season.
The Cardinals also signed offensive lineman Justin Evans, an undrafted rookie who originally signed with the Ravens, to the practice squad.
