The Cardinals filled their remaining open spot on the 90-man roster Monday by claiming outside linebacker Jeff Holland, who had been cut by the Denver Broncos.
Holland, an undrafted rookie in 2018, spent most of last season on Denver's practice squad before being promoted late in the year to the active roster. He played for Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph when Joseph was the Broncos' head coach last season.
The Cards actually have plenty of numbers at that spot already, meaning this could be more about taking a flier on a player Joseph and the front office see as a potential diamond in the rough. Behind starters Chandler Jones and Terrell Suggs, the Cards also have Andre Branch, Vontarrius Dora, Cameron Malveaux, Brooks Reed, Pete Robertson, and Pita Taumoepenu at the position.
