The Cardinals should be getting a piece of their offensive line back soon.

Coach Jonathan Gannon said Wednesday morning that the team is opening the practice window for starting right tackle Jonah Williams. Williams has been on Injured Reserve since hurting his knee in Week 1.

Since Williams' injury, Kelvin Beachum has been starting at right tackle, although an injury also led to a start by Jackson Barton for one game. The Cardinals have 21 days -- Nov. 20 -- in which to activate Williams to the roster, although he could be activated as soon as this weekend.

"I loved being out there," Williams said. "Everyone was really nice to say hi now that I'm back out there.

"We're not all looped into this stuff. They were like, 'What are you doing out here?' Playing football.'"

The Cardinals host the Bears and then the Jets before having their bye week in the next 21 days.

The Cardinals are already missing right guard Will Hernandez, who suffered a season-ending knee injury. Trystan Colon and Isaiah Adams have been a combo replacement there.

Williams was injured on the final play of the first quarter in Buffalo, although thanks to the Cardinals' furious start to the season he was in for 22 offensive snaps. He called the injury disappointing after the Cardinals were so good offensively in the short time he played.

Quarterback Kyler Murray said of Williams' time, "I just remember being super-protected."

"It's been bittersweet because I'm so excited for the guys and seeing them do well," Williams said. "But then I'm like, 'I just want to be out there.' ... The first week or two was tough, but then I started ramping up. I haven't had any setbacks, fortunately."

Gannon called Williams smart, strong and having good technique. "He didn't play much but he played well, the snaps that he played."

PRACTICE SQUAD MOVES

The Cardinals, with two open practice squad spots, signed a pair of players on Wednesday: linebacker Milo Eifler and defensive lineman Anthony Goodlow. Eifler has spent time with the Jets, Dolphins, Commanders and Falcons. Goodlow, a rookie, was with the Rams.
