The Cardinals released reserve center Lamont Gaillard on Wednesday.
The third-year pro was a sixth-round pick by the team in 2019. He played in 13 games last season and started two while filling in for injured center Mason Cole.
Gaillard also rotated into games late in the year after being a healthy scratch as a rookie. The Cardinals traded for Pro Bowl center Rodney Hudson this offseason, so Gaillard was not going to start, but was expected to be in contention for the backup center role.
Veteran Max Garcia and rookie seventh-round pick Michal Menet are options behind Hudson. Cole was traded to the Vikings in March for a sixth-round pick which became cornerback Tay Gowan.
