With David Johnson healthy and Kenyan Drake coming off his impressive debut, the Cardinals made a roster move Friday to release extra running back Alfred Morris and sign veteran inside linebacker Zach Brown.

Brown, a second-round pick of the Titans in 2012, was released by the Eagles last month. He had a good season with Washington in 2018 according to Pro Football Focus, and made the Pro Bowl in 2016 as a replacement while playing for Buffalo. With the Eagles, Brown was part of the regular rotation, making 29 tackles -- two for loss -- in six games.

In his career, Brown has started 80 games, totaling seven interceptions and 17.5 sacks. The Cardinals have had some issues at inside linebacker. Jordan Hicks has been a mainstay at one spot, but Joe Walker had recently been promoted to the other spot in base defense while former starter Haason Reddick was relegated to sub-packages.

Walker played 42 defensive snaps against the 49ers, Reddick 33. Hicks played all 74 defensive snaps.

The Cardinals now have three ex-Eagles at inside linebacker in Brown, Hicks and Walker.
