In need of an extra defensive back, the Cardinals went back to someone Steve Wilks knows.
The Cardinals signed safety Travell Dixon Monday, after Dixon had spent time in both 2016 and 2017 with the Carolina Panthers when Wilks was coaching there. The one-time undrafted rookie replaces a 2018 undrafted rookie – safety Jonathan Owens was waived/injured after hurting his knee last week during OTAs.
Dixon has also spent time with the Raiders, signing with Oakland out of the University of Washington in 2015.
He has appeared in one NFL game, with the Panthers in 2016.
The Cardinals begin their mandatory minicamp Tuesday.
